2009 and still no Plymstock Pool
17 February 2009
Plymstock Labour Party is calling for the Tory Council to come clean on their plans for a new pool in Plymstock. Twenty one years after they first made the pledge to build a swimming pool for the town no plans have been published or a site selected but still the Tories roll out this pledge at each election.
Luke Pollard, standing for Labour against the Tory MP at the next election, said: "Plymstock Labour Party has been asking for the Tories to come clean about their plans for a Plymstock Pool for the last year. To date they've ignored not only my letters but also the concerns of local people and have stayed silent about how they are going to deliver on their promises. It is time the Tory Council just came clean and gave local people an honest appraisal of the chances of getting a new pool - the pool they've been promised for twenty years."
Labour is campaigning on Plymstock Broadway on Saturday 21 February from 2-4pm raising awareness of the Tories' broken promises on the swimming pool and asking them to come clean. Can you help hand out leaflets to local people and join our campaign? If so please get in touch with Luke Pollard on Luke@lukepollard.net
