Save Chaddlewood Fields

Luke Pollard

Local people are being asked to join a campaign to save Chaddlewood Fields from being sold for high cost housing by the Tory Council.

The campaign to Save Chaddlewood Fields is being lead by Luke Pollard, Labour’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for South West Devon. He said:“Chaddlewood Fields is an important community open space and to find that it has been snuck onto the Tory Council’s asset disposal register is alarming for local residents. With the Tory Council needing to sell land worth £87 million in the coming years just to balance their books open spaces like Chaddlewood Fields are under threat. It is even more alarming when the Tories U-turned on their election pledge not to build houses on Central Park.”Pauline Murphy, Labour’s candidate for Plympton Chaddlewood said:“With the local elections fast approaching this is a chance for the people of Plympton to send a message to the Council that public open spaces need protecting not selling off to developers to make a profit at Plympton’s expense. So far nearly 100 people have joined a special Facebook group set up to Save Chaddlewood Fields on Facebook.
