Luke praises Coombe Dean School's Wind Turbine Application

Government Planners have over-turned the Tory Council's planning decision to oppose Coombe Dean School's wind turbine application. Labour has supported the school's application for two wind turbines to generate 20-25% of the school's energy.

Luke Pollard, Labour's PPC in SW Devon said: "The school has shown real leadership in this campaign. I hope other Plymouth schools will follow Pattrick Frean's lead in showing our children how renewable, green and cheap energy produced locally can make a difference in tackling climate change.

"Plymouth needs more green energy not less and questions need to be asked why the Tory council refused planning permission without any grounds to do so."

The Labour Party wil continue to support local school's in building in green energy to their schools. Climate change is real and demonstrating how renewable energy works is important for all our children who will live through the consequences of our carbon emissions.
