Elections to the Council are held for three years out of each four, with elections for one third of Council seats being held each year. City councillors make policies and take decisions that affect the people of Plymouth and decide how the Council's budget should be spent. Many detailed decisions are delegated to
individual portfolio holders, Cabinet members and committees. We have a duty to explain to local residents how we spend their money and how well we're providing services, as well as ensure that
they can find out who's making decisions and why.
